GREEK ISLAND HOPPER

Where do I begin.  The only description I can give to the Greek Islands is that they are magical.

I was fortunate to take my last European tour visiting Santorini and Mykonos Islands.  I found these two islands very different, but equally beautiful.

Santorini is considered one of the most romantic destinations in the world and one of the top destinations for honeymooners.  For a lot of good reasons:  sunsets, views, food, picturesque villages, this was my favorite island.

Mykonos is considered more of a party island.  Full of restaurants and nightlife along with beautiful beaches.  If you are a sun worshipper and love the beach, then Mykonos will be the better choice for you.

Santorini has only volcanic pebbles beaches (there is a red, black and white beach).  Impressive, but not the beaches we are used to.

On the other hand, Mykonos has more than 20 amazing sandy beaches with crystal clear turquoise waters.  Based on what type beach you are looking for (nude, partying, gay, family oriented, quiet relaxing), you can find them all in Mykonos. 

Shopping in Santorini and Mykonos was very good with a good variety of jewelry and souvenir shops along with high end boutiques and several wine and olive oil shops.  Be sure to bring back some Greek olive oil and wine.  The Greek Taverna’s served delicious traditional dishes.
