River and Ocean

The easiest way to see many places in the world is via a cruise.  Ocean cruises sail all the oceans of the world.  The most popular are cruises to the Caribbean islands.  A cruise offers guests a budget friendly option as meals are included, and yes you can eat all you want 24 hours per day.  Plan on gaining at least 5-7 pounds on a week long ocean cruise.

River cruises sail everywhere there is navigable waterways.  The most popular river cruises in Europe are on the Rhine, Main, Seine, Douro, Danube, Moselle, Saone, Rhone and Elbe.  In Asia, the Mekong, Yangtze and Irrawaddy. In the US, the Mississippi, Columbia and Snake Rivers, Hudson River and Eastern Seaboard cruises.

River cruises offer guests a more relaxed cruise experience with less guest capacity (from 16 staterooms to 245 staterooms) where you enjoy a more personal guest experience.  And, you don’t have to worry about getting seasick as you are on a river which is very smooth sailing.  There are many amenities on a river cruise that an ocean cruise does not include.  Excursions are included in every port and alcoholic beverages (wine and beer) are served with meals.

If you are looking for fewer crowds with more cultural immersion in your destination, then a river cruise would be a great fit for you.
