COSTA RICA

My favorite place to visit in Central America is Costa Rica.  A friendly land rich in rare natural beauty, Costa Rica is a true ecological paradise.  On this vacation, my group and I saw exotic birds and wildlife, we hiked in jungle rainforests, we viewed volcanoes, soaked in hot springs and took a few cruises through biological reserves where we saw some of the largest crocodiles in the world. 

One of the most exhilarating things I did on this tour was a skywalk on Mistico Hanging Bridges in Arenal. I have a fear of heights, but I gathered my courage and did it.  We saw beautiful waterfalls and the views above the jungle rainforest were very impressive.

We visited Doka Coffee Plantation near Sarchi and learned about how coffee is grown and manufactured.  Of course, we got to sample the coffee and coffee bean candy.  The coffee bean candy was my favorite.  And yes, I brought back lots of coffee and candy.  I have a new appreciation of the cost of coffee after seeing what is involved in producing the products.

We spent our last few days on the Pacific Coast visiting Guanacaste and Manuel Antonio Park.  These were some of the most beautiful areas we visited.

You need to put Costa Rica on your bucket list.  You will be glad you did.
